VS Halloween Special

The Celts of ancient Ireland celebrated Halloween as Samhain, or “End of Summer.” During this annual festival of fire, the dead were said to revisit the mortal world, and large communal bonfires were lit to ward off evil spirits.

At Virtual Season, every day – or at least every Friday biweekly – is Halloween, and Halloween officially marks the end of virtual summer. Old questions are answered, new ones posed, and our heroes of televisic legend revisit the mortal world for another brace of tales fantastic, horrific, and often more than a tinge romantic. In the interest of public safety, no bonfires are ignited to chase off bad spirits. Rather, we light up the screen with stories of demonic cunning.

It’s time for our version of trick or treat – no sweaty rubber masks (we use screen names), no candy (we’re better for your teeth), and no soaped windows (that’s a guarantee). Stay in tonight – Michael Myers may still be out there swinging that blade, and we pledge to deliver scares without scars. Happy end of summer – you’ll feel the first chill of fall in a few paragraphs.
